(8/21/2006) “If we win Australia, we may be first” The first fame was magical for Greece on the 15th World Championship in Japan, because of Dimos Dikoudis, who had a tremendous appearance against Qatar with 26 points in 22 minutes (5/6 free throws, 9/12 two points shots, ½ three points shots, 4 rebounds) and guided Greek team in its first victory (84-64) against Qatar. “We avoided the surprise that us it would cost. We keep the victory, but also the negatives, from this game”.  The second obstacle in the street of National Greek team was Lithuania. The Greeks took the victory in overtime (69-69, ot 81-76) And Dimos Dikoudis had 6 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds in 13 minutes.  “Defense was the key of victory in this game. We stayed calm at the end of the match and won a very good team like Lithuania. We have won the first two matches and now we want to beat Australia for making the biggest step for the first place of the group”. About the game against Australia, Dikoudis said: “Αustralia doesn’t seem to be a team, which may make damage to you, but is a very good opponent and we mustn’t underestimate them”.   Back
